BACK <MULTICOL> Command next

Command Syntax:

<MULTICOL command parameters>
  a block of text to be formatted
  in multiple columns
</MULTICOL>

The command renders enclosed text in multiple columns depending on the parameters provided.

The command is specific to the Netscape browser but the same effect can be produced using a table in any browser that is capable of displaying tables.

Example:
<MULTICOL cols="3" gutter="20">
  Now is the time for all good men to come to
  the aid of their country. Every good boy deserves
  fun. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
  . . .

Any enclosed long block of text is rendered in three columns with a gutter (space between the columns) of 20 pixels:

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.   Every good boy deserves fun.   The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.

Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.   Every good boy deserves fun.   The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.
